Our Practice

Here at Serenity Spine Center, we believe that effective pain management is a team process.

We look forward to working with you to improve your ability to return to the activities that you have been missing, as well as provide a meaningful reduction in your pain.

We will focus on diagnosing the underlying source of your pain, so we can develop a plan specifically directed at treating your pain generators.

While we understand that medications can play a role in managing your pain, our primary goal is to reduce or eliminate the dependence on oral medications by focusing on other modalities to treat your pain.

Pain management is an on-going process that requires your active participation in a treatment plan to help you successfully return to work, home and community life.

Multidisciplinary Pain Management

Serenity Spine Center offers a multidisciplinary approach to pain control. To accomplish this, we rely on many members of your professional team. This includes our on-staff Anesthesiologists, Pain Management Physicians, Physician Assistants, as well as outside consultants in Neurology, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Psychotherapy, and other specialties as needed.

Plan of Treatment

Patients are seen based on a referral from their primary care physician or specialist. The first visit at the pain clinic will include an initial evaluation, focused pain history questionnaire, interpretation of tests and x-rays, and a physical examination. The provider will then discuss the recommended plan of treatment.

Your new Plan of Treatment might include:

  • Injections

  • Nerve Blocks

  • Physical Therapy

  • TENS

  • Non-narcotic Medication Management

  • Spinal cord stimulator

  • Acupuncture

  • Psychotherapy and/or access to support groups

Your pain management team will work together with you and your primary care physician or specialist to determine the source of your pain and how to best meet your pain management and medical needs.

Taking Charge

You and the professional team at Serenity Spine Center will agree on your personalized care plan. This plan will be tailored to helping you understand and manage your pain. This is a team effort and you are the most important part of this team. It is important to us that you understand the medical issue and the treatment plan and that you are comfortable with and agreeable with the plan. As with any team, it is key for everyone to be on the same page.

Regular office visits and repeat procedures are often necessary to provide continuing management of your pain and continuity of care.

Providing you with the best providers for the best care
